Good Morning!

I have oficially survived my first night here at Children's with Caroline. I can tell Matthew has been here longer, because he's a seasoned sleeper. All the beeps and people in and out make me curious/worried and I can't manage to stay in the chair. This picture is my view of Caroline when I look up...sleeping babies are the best thing on earth. I'm trying to stay positive, but the doctors are telling us that she's starting to show signs that she is ready for surgery. She can't possibly know that she's about to have to fight to live. They're saying that the stage one palliation will most likely be done tomorrow, and preparations are being made.

  1. I've been thinking about you and Matt a lot. I hope today is a good day and that you've been able to rest some. It must be really hard to sit back and let all this happen to your precious girl. I admire you both.

  2. Lauren and Matthew, You have a lot of people praying for your precious little Caroline. If that hospital is anything like Scottish Rite where Luci was, then she is in very good hands. She is blessed to have such a strong Mama and Daddy to oversee her wellbeing. Love You, Brennice

  4. Oh Lauren she is precious! I printed a picture for "grandpa" to see his granddaughter and he really sends his love! May God be with lil' Caroline, which looks so much like her big brother, and her mommy and daddy.

  5. Congratulations! I have a Caroline too! I love that name. Your Caroline is just such a beautiful baby. She's so pink and healthy. She looks VERY strong. Best wishes and prayers for you all and for your health care team.

  6. she is gonna do great! you get used to things fast. i too was jealous that my husband got to be with jack a few days before i even really met him. and he was "in charge" with all of the staff etc... that soon changes as the mommy instinct takes over. you will be used to that place in no time. i never did get used to all of the noises though. keeping you in my thoughts. i am just a few days behind you, and somehow, freaking out even more than i did with the norwood! :( - Katie

  8. Hang in there! Caroline is lucky to have a strong-willed and fighting mommy by her side. The next several days/weeks will be rough and you'll have highs and lows. The fight is well worth it; Caroline looks great. She's "ready" for surgery, as the docs put it. Zoe was "ready" at 15 hours old and she's flourishing. Sending love your way. Hugs.
